How do we learn now and keep pace with the rate of change in the digital world?
I love to learn. And if you know me, you also know I always have a business or marketing podcast on.
What’s funny is I actually hated school. I always thought there was something wrong with me, but with growing up I simply realized that the traditional education system is broken.
I have a bachelors and a Masters in Business Administration and, to be absolutely fair, I did learn some valuable things.
But I’m humble. I recognize I don’t know it all. I am nowhere near done. And I want to know more.
What made a really big difference for me in my success both as an entrepreneur and as a digital marketer was the fact that I invested in digital education.
No, the internet is NOT full of free info. Yes, the best teachers and subject matter experts DO create multiple free resources, but everybody saves their best for their paid products.
Here’s what I invested money in 2018. By the way, the courses were brilliant!
Seth Godin’s The Marketing Seminar
This one was a Christmas present from my Mom. Thanks, Mom!
It was the best investment and the single most difficult program I went through. I learned things that were immediately applicable. There were no tools, no skills taught. Becuase Seth teaches strategy and mindset. The biggest surprise of the course was the community: I haven’t felt more supported in any other program.
In this program, you learn:
- Tell stories to make change happen
- Get clients, gain market share, and serve your audience
- Position your service or product so that it is truly outstanding
- Clearly see opportunities to create value in the marketplace
- Develop worthwhile products and services your audience will talk about
- Communicate in ways that resonate and spread
- Save money, save time, and grow your tribe
- Understand the massive shifts from old marketing (advertising and interruption) to the world we live in today
Who is it for? Freelancers, Entrepreneurs, Change agents, Brand managers, CEOs, Anyone who wants to make an impact.
I cannot speak highly enough about it. If you wish to enroll, reach out to me directly: I might have a discount code.
Seth Godin’s Freelancer Course on Udemy
As always, Seth teaches mindset. The basic principles are: choosing your clients, how to be at the right place at the right time to find them, pushing yourself to produce remarkable work, build reputation.
Who is this for? Current freelancers who want to build and differentiate their businesses. Not the people who seek shortcuts, guaranteed results and an easy path
I actually loved it and find myself going back to it whenever I have a difficult time.
Now, you tell me: would you invest in digital education? What’s your topic of interest? Or: did you already go through a great course?
